Let's talk about donating prams!
One of our most requested items - a pram for bub (and importantly mum or dad!) to get out and about in. If you are ready to pay your pram forward, check out these top tips for donating your pram and keeping it out of landfill.
1
Clean the pram inside and out - don't forget the wheels, underneath the straps, and anything that can be taken off and machine washed - even better.
2
The brakes MUST work to meet Australian standards - this one is a non negotiable to keep bub safe.
3
A 5 point harness in perfect working order, check the clicks on all the straps.
4
Folding and unfolding prams sometimes requires a special sort of college degree! If you can print or provide the instruction manual and pop it in with the pram (or even a note attached with how to fold it up!) we would be eternally grateful. 🤩
5
A sun shade is also an Australian standard.
Check it opens and closes with ease.
6
The final one is a biggie - if your pram comes with a bassinet and seat attachment - bag and tag the parts so they stay together.
We can't rehome a pram bassinet with nothing to attach it to!
Same goes for any extras that you want to donate with the pram (rain cover, pram liner, caddy etc) - bag it all up together so it stays with your pram.
Hope this checklist is useful. We appreciate you dropping your beautiful prams at our Storage King warehouse in Rozelle, 7 days a week, anytime during their opening hours. Details at www.mummiespayingitforward.org.au
